The United States government has issued a sharp condemnation of the People's Republic of China for the detention of approximately thirty leaders and workers from the influential Zion Church an unregistered Protestant congregation The US called for the immediate release of those detained in what is being described by advocacy groups as one of the most significant crackdowns on Christian house churches in years Among those arrested is Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri founder of the Zion Church who was detained at his home in Beihai in Guangxi province.The arrests which occurred across multiple cities including Beijing Shanghai and Shenzhen targeted leaders of the Zion Church one of China's largest so called underground or house churches These churches
